I’ve decided to do a top 5 blog every Friday – this being the first. I will get together a list of my top 5, favourite… “anythings”!
This week, I’m going to list my top 5 favourite Free Icon Sets. There’s so many around that it has been hard to choose from, but here we go (click the images to download these icon sets!):
Geomicons
This is a great set of icons, I love the shapes and styling of icons like this – make sure you download your free copy while it is still available. Take a look for yourself!
Payment Type Icons
Here we have a great set of payment card type icons, designed especially for Smashing Magazine by Phil Matthews. Make sure you download these and use them in your next e-commerce design, as I think they’re a cut above the rest!
Hand-Drawn Social Media Icons
Next up is a set of hand-drawn (by Alex Latimer) social media icons. These are an absolutely great find, I love this style of drawing. Be sure to check out Alex’s Website, as there are some great drawings over there.
Classy Social Media Icons
Again with the social media icons, you ask? Why, yes! But this time we have a huge set of classy social media icons. These can pretty up any corporate design, and they are all free for commercial use!
Floating Icons
Last but not least it’s a brilliant set of icons which appear to be floating! I’ve not had a chance to use these yet, however, once I do get that chance – I know these icons will be put to great use.
Now, I’m sure there are hundreds more icon sets out there – maybe even millions of free icons that I have yet to see and use in website design. But I want to see them, believe me I do, so please – leave your comments below and introduce me to some more, amazing, illustrative skills.
