Pods CMS for WordPress

I came across a really nice plugin for WordPress last night – Pods CMS. Pods CMS is a plugin that allows you to create, what is essentially, custom post types via the WordPress admin area.

I haven’t had a chance to really use this plugin to its full potential at this point in time, but I did check out the video (~25 minutes long), and some of the functionality and UI that this plugin offers looks really great.

The plugin seems to go one step further than custom post types, and create each “content type” its own table in the database. This is great for developers, as it allows easier access to the information, in turn allowing for greater manipulation.

The Pod CMS plugin has a variety of, what they call, “magic tags”. These are essentially the same thing as WordPress’ shortcodes, and allow for direct and easy communication with the Pod CMS library.

Conclusion

All in all, this looks like a great addition to WordPress’ custom post types (which I must say, I can’t get enough of these days), so i will be sure to experiment with this much further in the future. Just thought I’d let you guys know about it!

Their official website can be found here – Pods CMS.
